Absolutely not.  Lifetree Café thrives on variety.  If you've filmed a game show of your own creation or a documentary on paint drying or Uncle Edward talking in his sleep, and you think it'll get people talking - then submit it.

We are a shorts film festival, but unlike other shorts festivals, we want shorts that are shorter than the usual defined "short".  This is mainly because receiving our top award also means having the opportunity to have your entry integrated into a Lifetree Café episode, which is an hour long, host-led discussion about a topic sparked by the media piece shown.  Because people want time to talk and react to the media presented to them, it's important that we offer them time within the hour for conversation.

Doing the math, it would be ideal to have a film less than 30 minutes; however, if your entry deserves to be called a Lifetree Film, then, we'll make it work.  Long story short: if your film is over 30 minutes, it will still be considered in our festival.

Yes.  Film content should adhere to PG-13 standards or friendlier.

Yes, yes and more yes.  You can enter as many films into as many categories, or even into like categories, as you please.  However, you must pay an entry fee for every film you enter.

This award is unlimited at each year's festival.  These films are the top picks of the festival.

Yes.  By entering the festival, you grant Lifetree Film Fest and Lifetree Café non-exclusive rights to screen your film both at the festival main event, traveling Lifetree Film Fests, and within a Lifetree Café episode that releases nationally to all Lifetree Café locations around the country.  You will always retain full ownership of your entry.

The Lifetree Film Fest is all about you, the filmmaker.  Awesome, relevant, powerful films should be honored, and so should the people who pour their blood, sweat and tears into them.

All finalist entries get two VIP Filmmaker passes to get in free to the festival screening and awards, front and center reserved seating to the big event, and recognition at the event as being a filmmaker.

All filmmakers will receive an e-mail about 4 weeks prior to the festival with the news of whether or not your entry is a finalist. Only finalists will be screened at the event.
